4.SUPERNUMERARY TEETH-
- most common in maxillary permanent dentition.mesiodens is a small tooth with a cone shaoed crown and short root.
- shows autosomal pattern of inheritence.
- Appr 90% of all supernumerary teeth occur in maxilla.
- Multiple supernumerary teethh are usually associated with cleidocranial dysplasia and gardeners syndrome
- 2 nd most common supernumerary teeth is maxillary fourth molar called distomolar situated distal to III molar
- supernumerary teeth which morphologically resemble those of normal series but most are reduced in size are called supplemental teeth
