9.Eagle's syndrome-It is due to elongation of styloid process or ossification of stylohyoid ligament causing dysphagia,sore throat,glossodynia,headache,and vague pain along the distribution of internal and external carotid arteries.Pharyngeal pain and dysphagia are chief compaints in eagle's syndrome

8.Necrotizing Sialometaplasia:It is a benign inflammatory reaction of salivary gland that mimics a salivary gland malignancy.Etiology is mostly due to local ischaemia.Most common intraoral site is palate,followed by buccal mucosa and the type of necrosis is cogulative necrosis.Similar type of lesion in the skin are called as Syringometaplasia

7.EHLER DANLOS SYNDROME

 
Also known as Rubber man syndrome
Clinical features are:
-Hyperelasticity of skin,
-Extrema laxity of  joints.
Skin has  tendency to bruise easily and unusual healing response with scar formation resembling crumpled cigarrette paper "Papyraceous scarring".
-Classical EDS have Type I  or Type V collagen defects.
-Marked periodontal disease are seen mainly in type VIII EDS
-Pulp stones are common in EDS

6.GEMINATION-An attempt at division of single tooth before calcification ,resulting in incomplete formation of two teeth.The resultant structure will have two completely or incompletely seperated crowns with a single root and root canal.
TWINNING-The division of a  single tooth resulting in one normal and one supernumerary tooth.The number of teeth will be more than normal.
FUSION-Union of two normally seperated tooth germs.If union occurs before calcification ,the two teeth are completely united to form a single large tooth.if union occurs after calcification ,there is union of roots only.The tooth may have seperate or fused root canals.Fusion of teeth is more common in deciduous teeth.

5.Clinical features of Lupus vulgaris
-Commonest manifestation of cutaneous tuberculosis
-Most frequent in children and young adults
-Face is the most common site
-Persistent brownish red well defined patch with dermal infiltration
-Presence of apple jelly nodules
-On healing a  tissue paper like scarring is produced in the centre
-Match stick test positive

4.SUPERNUMERARY TEETH-
  • most common in maxillary permanent dentition.mesiodens is a small tooth with a  cone shaoed crown and short root.
  • shows autosomal pattern of inheritence.
  • Appr 90% of all supernumerary teeth occur in maxilla.
  • Multiple supernumerary teethh are usually associated with cleidocranial dysplasia and gardeners syndrome
  • 2 nd most common supernumerary teeth is maxillary fourth  molar called distomolar situated distal to III molar
  • supernumerary teeth which morphologically resemble those of normal series but most are reduced in size are called supplemental teeth
